Fitness Tips and Tasty Tricks

Hello Internet and welcome to Condition Nutrition. Before I give a brief introduction of my blogs content I thought it would be appropriate to give you a little bit of background information on myself. So here it goes………..

My name is Matthew Stanners born in Northumberland England on 31.05.1994. I am 6’3″ quarter Italian Male with a Love for Fitness and Food. I currently live in Newcastle with my girlfriend Chloe and our two cats Dylan and Midge. I come from a family of people who love sport and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. My dad always encouraged me and my two brothers to actively keep fit and made sure we ate a healthy diet although I did not always enjoy some of my Dads cooking. My mum however is the Italian side of my Family. Her cooking was slightly better and slightly less healthy to say the least. My Mum’s Dad and My Granddad was a  fantastic cook and I enjoyed nothing more then sitting in his house eating Italian Sausage and Tomato Pasta. I’m convinced that me and him were they only people that know how to make this recipe although I am sure I will share it with you all at some point. Anyway my love and passion for food definitely comes from my Italian blood.

For as long as I can remember I have always been into fitness in some shape or form. Even as a young child I remember having a 6 pack and constantly being competitive in anything physical. If I am being completely honest I would often find that I was faster and stronger then most other kids. At the age of 14 I got my first gym membership and started lifting weights. At that age all I wanted to do was build my trophy muscles, not that I had any real idea what I was doing. I played competitive football up until I was 16 and captained my Local football team. It was at 16 that my life really changed. I remember watching an episode of Ultimate Fighter Season 9 UK vs USA on TV and my eyes were opened to Mixed Martial Arts. I knew this was something I wanted to get into. I am sure I will go into more detail about this as my blog unfolds but Martial Arts has been a constant in my life for 7 years.  From the age of 18 I took my weightlifting more seriously and had built up a better understanding of how to train although I was still no expert. When I was 21 I wanted to take my passion for fitness and turn it into a profitable skill. I qualified as a level 2 fitness instructor and got a job teaching classes at a gym called Persistence Fitness. I taught classes such as Boxercise, Circuit Training, Kickboxing, Boxing, 6 week Challenge, TRX and Abs Blast. I also worked One one One with clients helping them reach their Individual Goals.

So thats a little summery of me and why I love Fitness and Cooking. I am new to this blogging business so I have no idea if this is the kind of first post you do but I had fun doing it. My next post will be less about me and more about what to expect on the blog.
